Job Title Sr.Service Desk Specialist

Job Description CDM Smith is looking for a Senior IT Service Desk Specialist to join our global team! This person would sit in Chennai, India and provide support for all levels of end user software and hardware support.

-Troubleshoot new and escalated incidents from Service Desk staff, and desktop team through use of phone, email and collaborative tools. Typical 2nd and 3rd tier incidents include software applications errors, desktop/laptop hardware failures and minor network issues.
-Applies expert knowledge of business software applications to troubleshoot incidents.
-Documents incidents and requests for review with IT Managers.
-Consults with other Service Desk IT staff on issue resolution and escalates service requests to appropriate IT groups or individuals as required.
-Adds updated and removes obsolete documents and information stored in the IT Knowledge Management Systems.
-Participates in IT meetings and group discussions related to service requests and active projects. Follows direction of IT management to support major modifications to the global IT infrastructure and software environment as required.
Job Requirements - Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 4+ years experience supporting at least 100 users in a helpdesk capacity.
-Candidate must have strong communication/customer service skills in order to provide the level of phone support the Helpdesk requires.
-Previous experience with some form of a Call Tracking Tool preferred.
-Core knowledge of PC configuration and Windows operating systems.
-General knowledge of network operating systems and network topologies and protocols. Experience with current Windows Family of Operating Systems and Microsoft Office family required.
-Expert organizational skills.
-Advanced use of problem solving techniques and systems analysis.
-Experience supporting wireless and wired networks and there interoperation with computer systems.
This position requires the ability to adapt to flexible work hours and to travel occasionally. The employee must also be able and to respond to a cell phone, text message, or email message as necessary to meet the business requirements of the firm.
